Do any of us really know exactly how anything we’re working on is going to work out? Where it’s going to lead? What it will turn into? Where it will take us? Big nope.
Even with great intentions and discipline and help from Heaven, so much of our part of life is just winging worthwhile stuff.
I’m all for goals and plans, and some endeavors are a perfect match for structure. But boy are there are some projects that are served well by a more “chill” attitude, an approach of curiosity, a detachment almost from results: “No clue where it’s going to go, but I’m curious to find out.”
“No clue where it’s going to go, but I’m curious to find out.”
There’s something so…trusting and confident and fun and possible…about this kind of mental inclination, don’t you think? I sure do.
I’ve started teaching beginner pickleball lessons here and there. The reasons are four-fold: I love teaching, I love pickleball, I love helping others get off the sidelines, and I love having a paid and fun reason to be outside.
The best part of all of it? I have zero expectations for growing it and no plan to over-craft any part of it. Will I put up a flyer? Maybe. Might my students might tell others about it? Possibly. Cool stuff might just…come up. We’ll see where it goes.
This is the kind of “chill” attitude I dare you to channel more in at least some aspect of your life and work. Dare accepted? Paddle-high-five to that.
Here's to your big dreams, the wonder of being human, and to really living. See you in the next one…

Life is entrepreneurial, trying things, correcting, trying again.
Letting go of outcomes is very important! (I am very bad at doing so though….)
