Now, I’m no historian, but I’ve read stuff and I love history.
And here’s what I know about the American Revolution: The colonists were winging it.



They had never been part of a revolution before, much less led one against the most powerful country on earth.
They didn’t know it was all going to work out.
They weren’t trained for this sort of thing.
But they resented restrictions on their liberty and were willing to risk everything for greater autonomy. And I for one am so grateful they did—I love this place.
Three take-aways for dreamers and builders like us:
Trust that worthwhile things work out, and be brave.
Put a high price on your own personal autonomy.
