In yesterday’s column, I wrote about my friend Gabriel from a “pinch-me” day trip in Armenia. The following photo is not just a favorite picture from the day, but a Top 5 photo from my travels in general. Exploring a sprawling monastery complex on my own, something about the contrast in lines and light captured me.
As I look at it now, I also see a pretty profound analogy for us:
When you’ve got a dream or an aspiration, you usually only have a glimpse of it from where you stand.
To really see the scope of your potential and your dream—and do something about making it a reality—you’ve got to step out of the sheltered shadows and toward what’s beautiful.
