Your Thing Needs More Oomph
MTYL Memo #14—If you’re feeling stuck and small, try making bigger choices.
There’s this concept in improv comedy of “making a big choice.”
If you’re going to cry in a scene, make it an exaggerated cry. If you’re going to act mad, act big mad. If you’re going to move your body in a ridiculous manner, make it really ridiculous.
Making it bigger than we think it “should be” is how we break through our inhibitions to access the really delightful stuff.
Fact is, when we “make a big choice,” we are rarely over-the-top—we’re just closer to confident self-expression. And that’s where we can finally discover our substance and unique voice.
If you’ve been trying to do your thing quietly and wonder why it’s not working, have you tried adding some oomph to it?
Take up space with what you do and turn that passive shuffle into something epic. You’ll probably surprise yourself—and everyone else—when you let loose and start to have more fun doing your thing, your way.

This exact concept has been on my mind lately! I needed to hear this today, thank you for sharing :)
