Would you rather be wealthy or content? It’s possible to be both, I suppose. But if you aim solely for the former, you will likely miss the latter. But if you aim for the latter, you might get both.
As seen on a decorative plate I so very thoughtfully gifted my sister years ago: “Contentment is the greatest treasure.”
When it comes to contentment, it’s usually the small things that make a person feel positively rich:
Having your favorite clothes clean again.
Sunrises and sunsets.
Lamplight.
A clean car.
The intrinsic reward of a walk.
A riveting book.
A brand-new notebook.
Friendly animals.
Delicious smells.
Laughter.
Two questions:
What small things make you feel like the wealthiest person alive?
How could prioritizing contentment over “success” or “wealth” change how you approach your life, work, and spending?

After presenting a webinar today, I zipped over to the beach for a walk. Now this is living, I thought. And then I read your list!
