Nicely droll, e.g. "Just once I want them to hear something interesting since I always feel like I’m letting them down."
There's another non-insurance called Medishare. I hear their ads on Bill Handel's "Marginal Legal Advice" radio show, replayed midday Sunday here in Bozeman. Sounds like a reasonable "Christian-cost-sharing" system, but I gather its "premiums" aren't tax-deductible. Also their commercials' announcer is super annoying ... sounds to me like Michael Medved.
For someone like Emily, there's probably also still health insurance that covers big-ticket events, which is really all health insurance should be. Most "health insurance" today is equivalent to having auto insurance that would even cover oil changes and new wiper blades.
Thanks for the thoughts, Paul. I feel like I looked into Medishare once upon a time. And you're right about the "premiums" not being tax-deductible for any of the health shares. Like Karin, I also appreciated your comparison of health & car insurance!
I loved hearing what you do for health insurance, that sounds pretty cool! I also loved the 'small print' that you wrote - gave me a great laugh!
It delights me that you found it interesting AND that you got a kick out of that fake fine print :)

Great comparison of health coverage to auto insurance - that's a nice way to think about it.
